Manners and More Sessions

For the owner most interested in achieving some control over a new or young dog that is not getting along well with people indoors. Obtaining some basic house manners can sometimes be more important than starting standard obedience lessons. This option is created for those households which are not quite ready for standard obedience, but need to get some control over an active dog. Topics may include: off/ no jumping, leave-it, no barking/ that’s enough, and place/ go-to.

Puppy Training Package

Learn to introduce your puppy to some basic obedience skills using luring or gentle placement techniques. Each session will also cover methods to help you manage common puppy problems, and to prepare your puppy for future learning. This course is designed to aid the first-time puppy owner or those who may have scheduling conflicts with local group classes. Session topics may vary by client needs. Topics of the four one-hour sessions may include: attention, walking, sit/ stay and release, potty training, down/ stay, wait, leave-it, stand for exam, grooming (coat, nails, ears, teeth), recall, off, target training, and an introduction to future obedience training for the owner.

Basic Obedience Program

This package is intended to provide basic obedience lessons for an owner who chooses not to attend group classes with a difficult dog, has difficulty with scheduling for a group class, or simply seeks the benefits of private, one-on-one training from a knowledgeable instructor. We will teach you how to teach your dog through six one and a half hour lessons scheduled about one week apart. The rest of the work is up to you. Exercises include: heel, sit, stay, down, stand (for examination), recall, and the finish. Deeper objectives for what your dog is expected to achieve include: attentiveness to the handler, responsibility, discipline, subordination, patience and resignation, and accountability. Equipment is included, and will be tailored to you and your dog’s needs.

Off-Leash Reliability Program

This ten-session package is designed for owners who want more reliability with their dog’s obedience. We recommend this program for all dogs, but especially for owners of dogs with behavioral issues. From petite dogs to powerful dogs, this package is designed to help you attain off-leash reliability for all the exercises noted in the Basic Obedience Program. This special program is comparable to a basic plus an advanced obedience class. Equipment is included and will be tailored to you and your dog’s needs.
